4th Birthday!!
er....weeks that is. They just grow up so quickly...That's right though, four weeks as of today. Very much more engaged, alert and loud!
Just a few images to prove how damn cute this baby is. Now, for the uninitiated, babies are not meant to smile until they are around 5 weeks old. Despite some initial doubt by the Midwife, Frank is recorded officially in his Plunket book as "Smiling at three days old". Damn, now that's one advanced child eh. Not that we are the type of parents to go around saying how wonderful their little Johnny is, but...er, well he is.
So here are a couple of smiles for you all to enjoy.
He also has little says when smiling to tell the world all about it. Not quite 'Daddy' or anything yet, but 'Gaaaaaa' is getting close enough for now. He also has little says when farting for that matter - same sounds strangely enough. Thai curry and baby farts - bad idea...
Anyway - here's one of the happy family. All doing pretty good now - look no bags under Mum or Dad's eyes, although they look a bit shell shocked, probably due to the mountains of nappies, feels a bit like Ed Hilary and Sherpa Tenzing sometimes.
Been an amazing couple of weeks of visitors - seems that he is dealing in something addictive, because visitors seem to want to come back for more and more. So big ups to those that have dropped around and kept him entertained!
Special highlight was finally meeting his Auntie Milz this week. She seemed pretty stoked and we had to check her bags when she left to make sure she did not pinch him..!
Thanks again also for all the amazing gifts - Libby is doing her best to keep up with the thank you cards, but can be difficult in between all the other little tasks that Frank sets her!

Didn't I tell you those sweet smiles I got WEREN'T just wind? Clever wee Frankie - but that's no surprise! So looking forward to seeing you all again soon.

I'm sure he's smiling, probably finding these adults gooing at him somewhat odd and amusing. And then there's that funny face called Dad that's around a lot...now that's one to giggle at. It reminds me of this thought I once had that when humans are born we are at our most intelligent and wise, with an understanding of the meaning of life and the universe. We become more and more, how shall i put it, stupid with age as gluttony, greed and all those 'sins' of the material world take hold.
So if this theory holds true, I understand why Frank is smiling!
Mate!! Family's lookin' good there. Of course the little fella's smiling - life must be sweet with a couple of proud parents.
