Triple trouble...

Forget running marathons, scaling mountains, doing all-nighter essays, swimming the Cook Strait, building model boats from match-sticks or even eating a bicycle…if you want a real challenge, have triplets.

We shot up to Tauranga last week to catch up with good friends Trevor and Breda and their triplets Jonty, Lonan and Ava – who are about the same age as Frank and are out from the UK for a month!

Now if you ever were daunted about flying half way around the world, think of the logistical and mental challenge of bringing triples with you.

My hat is off to them.

We only had a few days to catch up, so made the most of it with Trevor and Dougal going sailing and blow-carting, while Libby and Breda, er looked after the kids…suffice to say, I owe Libby dinner out. At one point she was the only adult in a room of six kids (Frank, triplets and two of their cousins – aged 18 months and three).

But what great kids – while we were there, the two boys practically learnt to crawl and all three showed amazing belly roll tricks and huge amounts of cuteness and individual personality.
Was great to meet them and I look forward to a camping trip or something with the four kids in the future. If you want to see more photos, visit their blog: ttp://trevorandbreda.blogspot.com/

Circle of friends - our next photo showed Ava screaming after her brother Jonty kicked her in the head...

Granny Ro and Co

Written by Granny Ro

The wheels on the car went round and round, all the way from Tauranga to Wellington on Labour Day Monday.

Frankie did such a good job of keeping Granny Ro entertained in the back set. And how excited and happy he was to be home again amidst all his own familiar things!

Despite Wellington weather being foul for a good part of the week, the schedule of outings, visitors and fun days in the life of Frank continued apace.

He waves goodbye and hello, chatters constantly and is practising crawling backwards and wriggling around in ever increasing circles. Those first teeth are still battling their way through.

It was a delight spending time with Iris and Phoebe and watching Frank interact with both of them, and vice versa.

Descent of the GRANDPARENTS!!!

Post written by G'Marg and Pappy

G'Marg and Pappy had a great time with Frank and his parents – we had lots of special Frank time and some opportunities to look after him when Libby and Dougal were not around. We went to the zoo, to a swimming lesson, into town to do shopping, picnic tea in the Mt Victoria Domain, walk along the waterfront and met lots of his little friends. So thanks a heap for having us to stay you three. We had a lovely time and we’re already saving up for our next visit!!

Summer came to Wellington while we were here, for at least an hour...

Preparing for his first channel crossing, damn sight warmer in the pool than the channel though
