Beach break

Waikanae Beach again, for an entire week this time. Great weather, a bach with a huge pohutakawa in the back yard, a fantastic playground, awesome cafe and visits from some of our favourite people. Tigerrr had a ball too and none of us wanted to leave.

Frank sussed out how to catch some waves.
Arf sussed out how to fly a kite.

With class.

Mae sussed out how to make us laugh: "I am the Great Cornholyoake. Take me to your leader."

Playing 'Sand-wiches.'

Beautiful buddies.

Sweeney and Ange joined us for some carrying of logs and making of dams.

Arf swinging.

Sweeney swinging.

Nachoes with cheese!

Hanging out with Jack and Will who are in Waikanae for the entire summer (jealous!!!)

G'Marg and Pappy came to visit and build dams, make pancakes, read books, play in the surf... Every single person who walked past said, "Which are the kids?" or "Who's having the most fun."

These demolishon men, obviously.

Will, the tow truck.

Granny Ro came up for hugs, a cafe coffee, walks and playground fun.

In need of coffee and chocolate? Sad about the holiday nearing the end.

A bikeride along the river one day and along the beach another. All of us happy as happy to be on our bikes.

Looking through the photos just makes us want to head straight back up there. Thanks heaps to those of you who came and played. We all give that holiday 5 stars, indeed.

So this is Christmas (2010)

As we said in our previous blog, Christmas really crept up on us this year. It was a fabulous one with sunshine, lovely food, kind gestures and some of our special people to share the time with. Thank you!

A few days beforehand, we went to Granny Ro's and had a pre-Xmas lunch with the Campbell girls.

On Christmas Eve we headed to G'Marg and Pappy's and pitched our tent once the wind died down a little. Tigerrr came with us, of course, and loved being in the tent.

Is Father Xmas here yet?

He's been, Arf. Look!

Tigerrr got into the swing of present tearing.

At the zoo with the Annan gals - Mae off in another direction!

Great holiday season. Another blog to follow in a few days of our week in Waikanae. Hope you're all well and sticking to those resolutions (haha!)
