4th Birthday!!

er....weeks that is. They just grow up so quickly...That's right though, four weeks as of today. Very much more engaged, alert and loud!

Just a few images to prove how damn cute this baby is. Now, for the uninitiated, babies are not meant to smile until they are around 5 weeks old. Despite some initial doubt by the Midwife, Frank is recorded officially in his Plunket book as "Smiling at three days old". Damn, now that's one advanced child eh. Not that we are the type of parents to go around saying how wonderful their little Johnny is, but...er, well he is.

So here are a couple of smiles for you all to enjoy.

He also has little says when smiling to tell the world all about it. Not quite 'Daddy' or anything yet, but 'Gaaaaaa' is getting close enough for now. He also has little says when farting for that matter - same sounds strangely enough. Thai curry and baby farts - bad idea...

Anyway - here's one of the happy family. All doing pretty good now - look no bags under Mum or Dad's eyes, although they look a bit shell shocked, probably due to the mountains of nappies, feels a bit like Ed Hilary and Sherpa Tenzing sometimes.

Been an amazing couple of weeks of visitors - seems that he is dealing in something addictive, because visitors seem to want to come back for more and more. So big ups to those that have dropped around and kept him entertained!

Special highlight was finally meeting his Auntie Milz this week. She seemed pretty stoked and we had to check her bags when she left to make sure she did not pinch him..!

Thanks again also for all the amazing gifts - Libby is doing her best to keep up with the thank you cards, but can be difficult in between all the other little tasks that Frank sets her!

A star is born...a day in the life of Frank

Wee Frank, now 2 weeks and 3 days old. Already a rock star... check out that sneer. Just need some tight black jeans and some groupies and he will be selling records!

He has a busy schedule, up around 6am or 7am for a nappy change and feed. Couple of hours kip before a bit of screaming, cuddles and a nappy change and then another kip. Wake around 10 or 11am for a cuddle, nappy change and look cute for a while then scream until fed. Go for walk in pram. Sleep, nappy, scream cuddle, feed, cuddle. Sleep, nappy, cuddle, sleep, nappy, look cute, scream until fed. Bath. Look cute. Scream, cuddle, feed, nappy - poo, nappy - poo, scream, sleep. Nappy, feed, cuddle, nappy feed. Sleep, sleep, nappy, feed, scream, sleep. And then the next day.

He sometimes finds time to play - well kind of. Playing is still a bit of an abstract concept to Frank, but he is beginning to notice things a bit more like flowers

Walks in the pram or a ride in the car seem to be boring to Frank - because he just falls asleep...kind of good really for the rest of us
Cuddles are really his favourite time though. Drop by and get one for free...oooooh, ins't he cute!

I'm Home!

Hi Frankie here!

I just got let out yesterday and am now holed up in Mt Vic with Ma, Pa and Granny Ro. We had G'Marg and Pappy List to stay over the weekend which was very cher and I was a bit teary to see them go...

Anyway, some more pics - this is my Uncle Hamish having a large whiskey an big old stoogie for me in L.A. Cheers to you too Uncle Hamish, but where's mine eh eh??

I'm looking forward to a visit from Aunty Emz - she gave me a masisve bear though, so I'll let her off not visiting me, for now.

This is me and G'Marg who is reading me a book. I especially liked how the author drew upon an interesting blend of contempory American introspective to counter-balance the subtle sub-plots of the metaphical development of character's religious overtones. The pictures were good too.

This is me and Granny Ro. She keeps on looking at me funny and smiling. I am sure she knows when I have pooed my nappy before I do even...

This is one of me and Pappy List having some man time. I was a bit more interested in the lady on his shirt though I have got to admit...

Opps - that one's not supposed to be on there...bath time is great though.

Righto - enough from me.

Cheers for all the lovely pressies - I promise to write to say thank you very soon!

Back by popular demand - heeeeerrrreeeess FRANKIE!!!

Yes - here's some more of the cute wee tacker today doing his stuff for the adoring parents.

Hey thanks everyone - the outpouring of joy and celebration has just been really amazing. I have been relaying messages on the blog and text and phone calls to Libby in the hospital and we have both really appreciated them. We will reply soon - been a long couple of days...

Frank continies to do well and has had some good feeds and cracker poos.

Now - some vital stats:
Born 6.54am 2/3/06
Weight 7 pound 11 ounce (3.48kg)
Hair (dark)
Boy (er...obviously...)

Sweepstake Results
As most people picked a hairy boy, congratulation to just about everyone!

On the birth date, only G'Ma List got that one right - so big ups to you Ma! Scott n Sarah a close second with a pick of the 1st.

On the time - Sean OB was pretty much on the money with a pick of 7am, with Jane pulling in a second on 6am

As for the weight - no one picked wee Franks fighting weigh-in (he's actually a lover, not a fighter - his Mum already swears he is a heart-breaker) of 7'11''. The closest was Libby (she had a bit of inside knowledge - haha!) and Sean OB again on 7'9'' with Val and Don picking a close 7'15''

Congrats to all the winners, you get a nappy change!

No news yet on when they all come home, possibly Sunday or Monday - will keep you posted so you can drop by for a celebratory whiskey!!

ITS A BOY!!!!!!

Welcome to this world my son, Frank Alexander List.

Born with a mane of his mother's dark locks, a Wellington wail in his lungs, deep Pacific Ocena blue eyes and his father's hunger.

Frank joined us this morning at 6.54am after a long, complex and pretty painful induction and labour ending in a casaerean.

Mother and Frank are doing well and the wee man has already had his first feed. I am as proud as punch and all the Grandparents are weppy messes!!

Libby will be in the hospital for 4-5 days and won't be up to visitors until at least Sunday as she needs some serious rest. She does not have her mobile in there either as these are banned in the hospital, but I am relaying messages.

More soppy pixs to come.

Signed

Whoes your Daddy Dougal List!

We are underway - but expect a long haul

Libby has been induced, so things are underway.

They seem to be taking their own sweet time though, so will most probably be a long labour.

Induction started 5pm last night (Tuesday) and at earliest, we will get real action late tonight (Wednesday), but more likely to meet the Bump some time on Thursday. It could however be Friday....

Watch this space.

This has been Dougal, coming at you live from the Newtown Stationary Supplies Internet Cafe....
